PAST TO PRESENT
The Keen st Warehouse was Built in 1910 as a wire factory for the war effort, in the 50,s Alec Roberts bought the property which he extended and ran as a joinery. From the 70,s to the turn of the century the warehouse existed as a centre for environmental activists, artists musicians, re-birthers and generally alternate people. From a house of a thousand bikes to the 2001 flood much fun was had by all. First there was there the famine who had money for food! Then there was the pestilence so much for the summer of 1999 being a scabie free event, then there was the fire, a ciggie in the weeds or someone with a mental disorder we will never know. When the fire department informed the council Alec was told to "get those bloody hippies out of there" and we were all evicted, I call this the great skism of the black and white chanty the anarchists wanted to squat and others wanted to go through due process of the law. Surfice it to say the last of the biblical events, the great flood of summer 2000-2001, every one whom was too cool to clean racked off and myself and two others stayed to clean our home. I made a deal with Alec and the council that I would stay on as caretaker and I looked after the warehouse for three years. When the council upped the anti on Alec and demanded he install a $20.000 smoke alarm system He decided to demolish, I could not stand by and let the last bastion of a once pumping Lismore underground warehouse network, be leveled. So a friend and I pretended to have enough money to buy it and thus by some time. Alec halved the price & chucked in the house! Thus for the last three years I have been Kurator of Keen Kreations, creator of Cult ID and now 33.3

Gallery 33.3 in the Keen Kreations warehouse is a centre for cultural consciousness anyone whom does not fit into the dogmatic norms of society is welcome here, from visual artists, musicians, healers, trapeze and dance we have had it all, and we hope to continue to encourage much more for millenia. It was my privilage to hold the first private exhibition here, on my last day of being 33. At midnight I turned 34 and my six year mission had come to fruition. Currently we reside in the house and have studios in the warehouse, I have looked after many people in the last three years but somehow not as much as they have looked after me. The warehouse as defined by Tim Brown age 17 "When I first came here, it was assumed that I should be an artist or musician but Janelle made an exception in my case". Response of Janelle Buckley "This is a place where people can come if they are young (not under 16) but for reasons beyond their control would otherwise be homeless and I will protect them". Lots of people have lived here and contributed in many different ways, There have been dominant waves of musicians, circus performers, healers, gardeners and visual artists, but in whatever way anyone wishes to contribute, this is a space of free expression and creativity, influencing our cultural identity. This is the pivitol concept integeral to the idealism of the Warehouse indeed 33.3 and Cult ID. To the extent that I have a television show reflecting our "cultural identity" broadcast on our regional community television station Linc tv. Gallery 33.3 will have many private exhibitions to come, may they be diverse, controversial, enlightening and moving but most of all may they be fun.
